Hand-dyed cotton fabrics, wool batting.
Front: pieced; Back: pieced; tied.
The main fabric on the front of this quilt is a clamp-resist dyed fabric. The main back fabric is a breakdown silkscreen piece, produced by painting thickened dye on a silkscreen, letting the pattern dry, and then printing through that screen with more thickened dye. Each pull of the screen makes a different image, and a rich mysterious cloth is produced!
